Grandfather Mountain

We hit Grandfather Mountain again today, for their Dollar Days. Anybody who's local can get a whole car load in for one buck per person. Normally it's $15 per person, so we are trying to go as often as possible this month.

The greatest part of our trip today was meeting up with some of our East Asia buddies. We've had a great reunion this week with three different couples (well, one couple was missing her husband). It always amazes me at how many friends from overseas we've seen since we've lived here. The woman whose husband wasn't with us this week (not pictured) and her family were matched with their little girl the same day we were. We'll be traveling to China together!

Sam and I climbed all the way to the end of the rocks across Mile High Bridge. I was surprised that he could hike it all himself (with me gripping onto his hand for dear life the whole way).

See what a heart patient can do with a little hard work, determination and a Mommy to hold his hand? I'm so proud of him!

We really need to go before the end of the month! Thanks for the reminder. I just have to know....did you see the bear or find a stock pic from Grandfather Mountain?

We saw it! But, it's not as cool as it sounds (though there have been some bear sightings in the last two weeks). It was part of the habitats they have up there - otters, black and brown bears, an eagle and some deer.
